Content and Communications Manager

Who you are: You’re a curator of great content. You can spot a good idea and turn it into a great story. You’re a writer, a talker and savvy with social media.

You’re a communications person at your core—smart about turning ideas into stories, skilled at writing and telling those stories and savvy about leveraging the right channels and relationships to share them.

You are genuinely interested in the world of brand marketing and advertising. You understand the agency model, because you have worked at one at some point, and you get the nature of having to work with clients under tight deadlines and constraints. Because you’re a very strong writer, you can whip together a by-line, a press release or a series of social posts in record time.

You have an eye for strong visuals, an interest in technology (metaverse anyone?) and all things content (written, audio, video).

Meet Jack...

Our Corporate Communications and Brand Marketing team is looking for a content and communications manager to join our team. Your role will be to support our agency communications and content function across Europe.

Your role will include working with our MD of Jack London and our VP of global communications and content on external opportunities to promote our agency and brand. This will include PR, social media, local awards and thought leadership.

Your job will be to help raise the visibility of Jack Morton in the region, so we remain top of mind with clients and prospects for all things experiential.

What you’ll be doing

  • Take a lead role managing content development and public relations activities in the UK. You’ll also coordinate and keep tabs on our international content and PR.
  • Be responsible for ideating, creating, and publishing thought leadership articles on a regular basis. This will include sourcing ideas, creating a calendar of opportunities, overseeing content creation with subject matter experts.
  • Find opportunities and manage the flow of content for distribution on local social media channels, such as staff profiles for recruiting, promoting new thought leadership, etc.
  • Find potential news stories about our offices and our work, drafting press releases, and pitching stories to the local media when appropriate. You’ll be responsible for maintaining journalist relationships.
  • Look for executive visibility opportunities for senior leadership with organizations and support executives on content creation for these as needed.
  • Write, edit and fine-tune case studies and award entries as well as other marketing materials.

What we’re looking for

  • Around 3-5 years of marketing or PR experience. Agency experience preferred and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Track record of creating content for various business audiences and categories, managing multiple deliverables, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to champion the Jack brand voice and be able to bring the company messaging and values to life through development and execution of content.  
  • You’ll need to be able to turn some things around quickly (such as content for social channels) so someone that thinks and acts fast.
  • A collaborator and partner who can work across departments and teams and is willing to work strategically to concept ideas and campaigns.
  • Independent, self-starter who can hit the ground running to understand the organization and its needs.  
  • Results-driven and persistent but displays great sensitivity in relations with clients and colleagues
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Degree in PR, Journalism, Professional Writing, English or Communications, preferred
  • You will be based in the UK and will commute into our West London office 2-3x a week.
  • You will be reporting into a team in the U.S. but with local support in the UK.
  • You’re a team player with a positive attitude.
  • You take your work seriously but not yourself. Sense of humour a plus!
