Shifting Worlds of Strangers: Medium Theory and Changes in “Them” Versus “Us” by Joshua Meyrowitz
This is an extremely interesting read about how media (from a sociological perspective) aren’t just channels for conveying information. Rather, they are social contexts in themselves that can shape both how we interact with others and how we perceive ourselves (in relation to others). I think this POV is especially relevant to our industry, as we think about the changing nature of human experience, which is being transformed by innovations in technology and media.
