You are a Creative Talent Sourcer and recruiter, who will drive the process to identify and engage with top creative talent for Jack Morton West Coast. 

You are left brain / right brain balanced, who enjoys creativity and creatives, with an eye for great design and talent, and the operational love of process to keep things moving and get things done.  You’re aware of budget and timelines, of personalities and skillsets, and work to help us build amazing teams of staff and freelance talent.

As the Creative Talent Sourcer you will take on the initial contact and pipelining of freelance talent and manage candidates up to the interview process with our various discipline leads. You will communicate with your sourced candidates, persuade them to engage and interview with our client teams, then liaise with department heads and team leads to maximize their candidate experience.

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced talent recruiter and sourcer, with a strong eye for art, exceptional communication and collaboration skills, and a positive approach and energy. You are comfortable sourcing senior creative directors and leaders, to junior copywriters or designers.  You partner well, don’t get overwhelmed by complexity or multiple needs, and enjoy solving problems.

This position can be remote anywhere in the US, as long as you are able to work west coast hours.

What you’ll be doing

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes – but is not limited to – the following responsibilities.

  • Partner closely with the Executive Creative Director and other creative leaders, as well as production team leads to understand staffing needs and develop, build, and execute a sourcing strategy
  • Source the best freelancers available for a given position, balancing the needs of the role, team dynamics and budget considerations.
  • Actively maintain relations and communications with existing network of freelancers for current and future staffing needs
  • Expand our bench of freelancers by proactively engaging and sourcing new talent through multiple tools and techniques, across a variety of roles
  • Inform and support our creative and operational processes to operate smoothly and at scale
  • Partner with production and project leadership to secure talent within budget parameters, and clearly communicate as a team for a seamless contracting and onboarding candidate experience.
  • Support teams as they develop project plans and staffing approaches
  • Create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity, and competitive advantage in support of the company’s diversity and inclusion strategic plan

Keys to success

  • Be Organized.
  • Responsible. This role occupies a vital place in the agency. The right person will increase our creative output and help us become more profitable.
  • Plate-spinner. It’s never just one thing or one role—find joy in the pace
  • Self-driven. You don’t need to be told to do things; you’re driven to solve problems as you find them. You default toward action, even when there is limited information.
  • Leading meetings with project teams, speaking to creatives about their work, informing the senior leadership team of status and so on. Strong email communication skills will also be key.
  • We try to know what’s coming, but there are always surprises. A can-do attitude in these tight timeframes is vital.

 If you can do all that, you have what it takes. It might also help if…

  • 4-6 years of experience in a related field sourcing and securing freelance creative talent
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, attract and quality candidates; strong eye for identifying creative talent and intuition for team alignment
  • Experiential marketing experience will be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • College degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and/or Google Workplace.
