The Ministry of Defence appointed us to create a commemorative event for the dedication of a new WWI military cemetery in Fromelles, France. The ceremony also marked the completion of the reinterment for 250 Australian and British soldiers who died in the Battle of Fromelles on July 19th, 1916.
We provided the creative content for the ceremony as well as production, broadcast, technical and logistical infrastructure working in collaboration with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
The event featured a ceremonial procession, tributes from senior government representatives and testimonies from soldiers’ relatives and others connected to the tragic events at Fromelles. The ceremony concluded with the final reinterment of an unknown soldier.
Marking a solemn occasion with dignity and care
High-ranking British, Australian and French officials attended “Remembering Fromelles” and the ceremony conceived around a unifying theme – “We’re all connected to this place” – was broadcast live.
