Jack Morton Worldwide, a global brand experience agency, was appointed by Nokia to create the film “INAUSTIN”. The concept was to create a film which celebrates the unique time and place that is SXSW and to discover what draws creatives to the festival.  Each year in March, thousands of filmmakers, musicians, artists and developers make their way to Austin Texas and SXSW, the city’s biggest annual festival.

Producer Michael Richards worked with independent film director David Masters to develop the creative idea and make “INAUSTIN”.  The team travelled to Austin during the 2011 SXSW festival to meet some of the people that make the city and the festival such a vibrant and exciting place and ask them one simple question. “Why are you here?”

INAUSTIN” was awarded a Golden Eagle at the CINE Fall Awards 2011. The partnership between the agency and David Masters also created the Cannes Lion award winning Nokia N900 ‘Focus Group’ viral.

Michael Richards, Senior Producer, Jack Morton Worldwide said: “We made this film to really get a feeling of what drives people to the SXSW festival.  Who they are, why they go, what they are doing there?  The feedback from the film over the last year has been really positive and most of all, it really gets people excited about going again.  It is a festival of ‘do-ers’ unlike any other.”
