On October 29th, a group from Jack Morton New York participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The Walk is an annual event held in over 600 communities nationwide and is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

We joined over 2,500 walkers who came out to walk the two and a half mile route starting at the South Street Seaport, walking halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge then back down to the Seaport. It was a beautiful day to see the city on foot and help end Alzheimer’s disease, one step at a time.

This cause is one that is near and dear to my heart, as my grandmother passed away several years ago from the disease. It meant a lot to me to have my coworkers join me in supporting the fight!

By increasing awareness and raising funds, Jack helps fuel the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission in New York and beyond.  As a participating team, we helped the Manhattan Walk surpass their goal of raising $350,000. They’ve raised nearly $500,000.

Where does the money go?

  • Provides care and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s
  • Drives research toward treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure
  • Speaks up for the needs and rights of people affected by Alzheimer’s

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Walk and donated to our team.  Interested in supporting the cause? Donations for the 2016 event will be accepted until December 31, 2016. Donate here.
